1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar mechanism that keeps information in your browser without sending it to the server with each request. This policy covers both, and uses "cookies" for either.
2. Our approach
- We use no advertising cookies, no social media trackers and no cross-site tracking.
- Cookies that are strictly necessary to run and secure the site, or to provide something you asked for, are always on. The law does not require consent for these.
- Google Analytics is the only optional cookie. It is not loaded at all until you choose Accept analytics, and choosing Reject is as easy as accepting.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal and do not ask.
- Our statistics on guide pages use no cookies at all. See the Privacy Policy.

4. Functional
These remember a choice you made or your place in a long piece. They stay in your browser, are never sent to us, and are not used to identify you.

5. Analytics, only with your consent

Google Analytics tells us which pages are read, how visitors arrive and which countries they come from, in aggregate. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and Google does not log or store your IP address in Analytics. Google processes this data on our behalf; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and delete these two cookies from your browser.
6. Other services you may choose to use
- PayPal. Checkout takes you to paypal.com, which sets its own cookies under PayPal's cookie policy. None are set on our site.
- Translate menu. Choosing a language opens the page through Google's translation service (translate.goog), where Google's own cookie terms apply.
- LinkedIn and other links. Following a link to another site means that site's cookie policy applies there.
7. Changing your choice
You can change your choice at any time: . The same link is in the footer of every page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking Cloudflare's cookies may cause the site to show security checks more often.
